Castel di Ieri is located on top of a mountain, and it is overlooked by a tower with a pyramidal base. The main road of the town is shaped like a spiral that reaches the church of Santa Croce. The secondary roads, instead, are located in the shape of a star inside the city walls.
The historical center represents an example of the typical schemes of the medieval hamlets, and it is one of the best-preserved of the entire province.
There are several important monuments that are visited every year by hundreds of tourists and represent the main places of interest: the medieval tower, built during the 13th century; the church of Santa Croce, the only one still present inside the historical center; the Gentile Palace and the City Gate, built in 1495.
